Hike, Bike, and RUN!

Yesterday Petey and I took the kids to Federal Hill in Milford. This is one of the New Hampshire fire towers. If you climb five of the mountains/hills with fire towers you can get a cool patch. We had fun hiking a little over a mile round trip. We also went up the tower, almost to the top. It was a little scary with the young-uns in tow so we turned around and backed down just short of the viewing platform. We finished the day with a nice lunch at Chili's.

I also hit the bike for an hour and for the first time in 8 weeks I went for a run. Technically I'm supposed to wait until I see the doctor tomorrow, but the 8 weeks are up and he probably isn't going to tell me anything I don't already know. I did a very easy 3 miles at Winnekenni on the nice smooth trails. My back felt fine and I wasn't breathing hard which made me feel a little better about all the water running. I hit 24:30 for 3 miles, no world record, but I'll take it. The only worry is my Achilles which started hurting on Friday. I think that it has flared up due to the increase in biking, so I'll back off on the a bit. I'm also icing like mad and using a heel lift.

Onward....
