USATF NE Grand Prix info

Links and some info on all of the 2017 USATF NE Grand Prix races:

GP Notes

10mile 02/26/17 11:00 am Amherst, MA
Many time USATF NE championship, sketchy weather a possibility (check out the snowy pics on the website!), also rough dirt road section of the course that always has bad footing.  Awful 11:00am starting time.
Note: they have returned to the “classic” course, last used 3 years ago.  That means speed bumps and a 90 degree turn in the first 200 meters.  $35 pre-entry.  Hot showers afterward (you know about shrinkage right?).

Half Marathon 03/19/17 11:00 am New Bedford, MA
40th annual, many time USATF NE champs.  Closed course, well managed.  Worst post-race food ever (fish!).  $60 entry fee through the end of 2016, the $70 until Feb 1, and $75 after that (plus fees!!!!).  Is this the toughest starting line to get to?

15km 04/01/17 10:00 am Upton, MA
37th annual.  Where the heck is Upton? (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Upton,+MA/@42.176141,-71.6004365,13z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x89e40d1e090a3999:0x102a201f33329960)  Rolling course but pretty fast CR’s  Casey Moulton 47:34 (5:07 pace) & Steph Reilly 54:21 (5:51 pace).  Entry fee $25, $30 day of.  I’m looking forward to this new race in the GP.  This will be only the 10th time a 15k has been part of the GP (last time in 2014).

5 mile 06/18/17 9:00am Merrimack, NH
Former USATF NE champs, decent course (dreary but flat).  Well managed (Millennium).  Entry fee $30 early, $40 within a week of the race.  Pizza and yogurt after the race but NO ribs!

5km 09/17/17 11:00 am Providence, RI
Former USATF NE champs also has hosted national champs (they know what they are doing). Entry fee $27 early, $35 on race day.  Looks pretty fast!  https://www.strava.com/routes/7225033

10k 09/24/17 Gloucester, MA
Closed course, plenty of parking, multi-time USATF NE champs.  Back-to-Back weekends with the 5k leading into this race.

Marathon 10/22/2017
Multiple time USATF NE championship, flat fast double loop course.  Excellent race management.
