Long runs


My training for Baystate certainly isn’t what could be called “traditional”.  My main goal is to stay healthy and be able to race every weekend.  In order to do that I’ve capped my mileage at 80 per week and very rarely go over 8 miles in a single run.  Rarer than that would be runs over 10 miles.  This entire year I’ve only gone over 10 miles 24 times.  That may not sound like much but it is actually TWICE the number of long runs I did in 2017.  In 2017 I went over the half-marathon distance only three times.  This year I’ve done 11 runs over 13 miles.  I’m hoping this will pay off with a 50+ PR.  Good luck to everyone taking on a Fall marathon!
