15 years ago (Oct. 2005): I only raced twice this month ending up with a stress fracture in my right fibula that sidelined me for 6 weeks. I started the month (10/02/05) at the Syracuse Festival of Flowers 5k. I just missed my masters (40+ age group) personal best with a 16:34 which was good enough for 3rd place (31st overall). Teammate Eric Morse took second place with a 15:18.

The following weekend (10/08/05) I struggled through the
Jennifer’s Run in Lowell MA. My leg felt terrible and was bad enough that
I couldn’t do a warm-down. I finished in 5th place in 17:24.
The highlight of the month was getting inducted into the Billerica Memorial High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
