A deeper dive: May 3 – May 9, 1982
This
was a fairly typical week of training and racing during my final year of
outdoor track at Billerica Memorial High School with a not so typical result
(school record).

= 4 warm-up then 3 sets of 660/440/220 in 1:35/:58/:28 1:37/:61/:29 1:37/:62/:28,

= Premeet 2 miles then Frisbee football

= Meet Vs. Lowell @ Lowell weird double for me 2:06 ½ (1st pl) and
:54 440 in the 4x4 relay (3:46) with Bernie Brown, Jim Sullivan, Glenn
Burlimachi

= 6 miles easy then Atari at Hack’s
05-07-82
= Drive to NY, then easy 4 miles with Mike Busnach
05-08-82
= 4:30 pm overcast, warm, breezy - Loucks Games 2 mile –
66/69/70/70/72/71/70/62.8 = 9:10.8
My
previous best 9:26.9 outdoors and 9:15.6 indoors. School record, previous
best John Bradford 9:22 (1972). Mike Busnach ran 9:28.0!
