USATF trail series

This year marked the first foray of the MUT (mountain/ultra/trail) into actually designating a trail series. The four race series was comprised of the trail national championships at 10km, 15km, ½ marathon, and marathon. Mario Mendoza placed in the top 5 at three races to take the inaugural series. Tim Van Orden was top 40+ in second place overall and I took 2nd 40+ and fourth place overall. Plans are in the works to have a Trail Runner of the year named in 2011. Currently MUT only awards a Mountain and Ultra runner of the year.
