More Wachusett facts

I’ll be doing my 20^th Wachusett Mountain race.  I’ve been fortunate enough to pick up 8 “titles” over the years (1995-2015).  Part of that is just sticking around and going back to the race every year, part of it is luck, and part is determination.  I’m the only person to have an overall win, plus wins in two age groups.  Maybe Hodgie will pick up a win in the 60+ age group this year?  Eric Morse and Paul Low both have an impressive 5 overall titles.  Morse also can lay claim to five of the top 10 times (on the traditional 4.3 mile course).  Fram has four titles (2 in the 40+ and 2 in the 50+), his 2^nd place overall finish in 2002 was the third fastest time ever run, only 8 seconds shy of the course record and was run while he was over the age of 40.  Jackie Shakar, Jane Goodman, and Lisa Doucett all have five titles.  Margo Webber had four overall wins, and Julie Peterson and Suzy West both had 2 overall titles along with two 40+ titles.
