02/08/97 Craig Fram and I were interested in a workout on this day and not an “all out” race. We both were preparing for the first event in the USATF NE grand prix which was the Stu’s 30k. As such a 10 mile at 30k pace was our plan. The goal would be what we called “26/52” which teammate Steve Peterson took to mean 26:52. He thought it an odd goal time for the race but looked to run around that time (we still joke about it). Craig and I found ourselves alone right from the start. We ran fairly even as we tied in 25:54. The second time around took us 26:31 but that included the 30 seconds it took us to clear the finish line and continue on around the corner back to the start.
