10 years ago today (10/06/2007) I ran the Stark Mountain hill climb which was a unique race in that there is no set course just a start and finish line with 2,000’ of climb in-between. You could choose any route you wanted from the base lodge to the summit. I was alone after heading off on an access road then popping back onto the lift line (to avoid some cliffs). I kept expecting someone to jump out anywhere ahead of me on the lift line but it never happened. I collected $100 for the win and a course record of 23:51. Certainly the slowest mile I’ve ever run!
My CR still stands.
