I
went down to Huntsville Alabama in December of 1992 for my 11th
marathon. The field of 874 runners encountered
temps in the mid-30’s with lots of wind. The course had an incredible 52
turns but was reasonably flat so I was hoping for a quick time. I stayed
in a good sized chase pack from 2 miles through 10 miles and moved into the
lead after 21 miles and went on for my first road marathon victory in 2:20:51
(splits 1:09:45/1:11:06).
Start line with Hodgie (1), Reno (11), and me (12) |

Wow, Ebay was around in 1992? Crazy.
Also, UNATT had a deep team as always.
