So, as I enter a new decade of running
(note: a decade is just a collection of 10 years so don’t get all caught up in
the year “0” stuff) I’m looking back and looking forward. The 10’s were
not that far out of line with the three decades prior with mileage in line and
racing about the same number. The big change would be how much I slowed,
how my race mileage dipped and how few wins I got. None of that is
surprising.
I’ve been able to keep my winning streak
alive with at least one win every year since 1979. I’m hoping to continue
that as I head into my 6th decade of running and racing. I’m
also hoping to sneak under 3 hours at least one more time to get a sub-3 in
five decades. Hopefully I can get training back on track and find a good
downhill marathon this fall!
It is always a good idea to set goals as
it helps focus the training. Best of luck to all!
