Looking back - August 2005

 15 Years Ago: August 2005 – I raced three times during this month while logging a meager 238 miles (with 2 days off).  I started the month (08/06/05) with the Race to the Face triathlon.  My only tri.  I got stuck in the 2^nd wave which meant I had to pass more than 200 people during the single-track section of the mountain bike ride (6.5m bike, ½ mile swim, 2.5 mile mountain run with 2,200’ of climb).  I had a good ride then almost downed during the swim.  The climb went well as I passed MANY (basically everyone who passed me in the water).  I had the 29^th fastest bike time, 112^th in the swim, and 5^th in the run to take 18^th place overall.

 

On 08/24/05 I headed to Lynn Woods for the always fun and competitive Lynn Woods relay (4x2.5miles).  I was the anchor leg on this humid but not hot (60s) night.  Not a great night for me running 14:13 for the 2.5 miles.

 Three days later (08/27/05) I ran the Chamberas XC race in Carlisle.  I felt awful the entire race with lousy arch and a total lack of energy.  It showed as I took 10^th place over the 3.5 mile race in 18:59.
