Relays

 I love running relay races! Relays are a great experience, bringing a team together.  I’ve always been a big advocate of team participation.  You get so much more out of racing as part of a team.

 A couple of weeks ago I ran some unusual distances (for me) getting in a 4x200 for the first time and a 4x400 for the first time since High School.  I’ve done over 1500 races and only 85 have been relays.  I’ve been fortunate enough to race those relays from distances of 200 meters up to 14.6 miles. 

 The 4x440 is the most common distance for me to race in a relay with 19 times.  Basically my junior and senior year in high school I’d run the relay after doing either the mile or 2 mile.  The next most popular distance is 2.5 miles with 15 relays.  Most of those are Lynn Woods with a few “Moose Milers” relays thrown in.
