15 Years ago (June 2008): I raced 6 times during this month which included fast road running, naked XC running, trail racing, and Mountains. I started the month off (06/01) at the USATF NE 5km road champs in RI. The race was pretty flat and boring, looping around the parking lots before an interesting finish on the dirt dog track. I had a lousy head-cold and felt crappy. I managed a pretty decent 16:47 for 64th place. Six days later I directed and raced in the USATF NE trail championships at Northfield Mountain. Mark Miller cranked out a quick 35:47 over the 6.5 mile course. Teammate Tim Van Orden topped the masters in 38:26 and I finished about a minute later in 11th overall in 39:22. Four days later (06/11) I ran with Dave Quintal and Jim Pawlicki at Lynn Woods. It was somewhere between a race and a VERY hard workout. I took 2nd place as we ran in a line to the finish in 34:24 for the 5.5 mile course. Next up (06/21) was the Mount Washington Road Race. I ran a masters PR despite feeling “tired the first half and very dizzy at 7”. I took 30th overall in a very deep field running 1:09:08. A week later I doubled up taking second place on Saturday at the Butt’s a runnin’ (nude 5k XC race) in Milton VT. Teammate Al Bernier took the win in 16:15 over the 3ish mile course and I took second 30 seconds later. The next day I finished in 6th place at the Cranmore hill climb in 57:40, placing 2nd in the 40+ 30 seconds behind teammate Tim Van Orden.
