Hike at Mary Cummings Park

Hiked 2.5 miles with Todd C (who was 3 weeks off of his knee surgery).  First time for both of us at the Mary Cummings Park.  Nice park on an unusually warm (60s) January day.  I'll have to go back to this park as we didn't cover every trail but checked out some of the nicer ones.

Tennessee day 3 - part 2

After touring the river walk in Chattanooga it was off to the final tri-point of our trip.  It was a pretty short ride to the point where TN/AL/MS meet.  We had a short walk from a cemetery up a small incline.  The trip reports talked about not much but some flagging and maybe a post.  The last report was more than 10 years old and a lot has changed.  Someone placed a big metal gate welcoming you to the tri-state point and a nice stone marker with a metal top was placed at the point.  Really nice!

Tennessee - day 3 part 1

Started off our last full day in TN visiting the top rated donut shop in Chattanooga.  After picking out a dozen gourmet donuts it was time to hit the trail.  Eric headed out for a run and I got in 3 miles of hiking on the very popular trail around downtown.  There was a lot of cool artwork especially near the Hunter museum.

Tennessee - Day 1

We flew out of Montpelier pretty early and arrived in Chattanooga at Noon.  Eric went for a run while I hiked on the Brainerd Levee.

We headed East and stopped a bit later at "Sheep Top" Eric went for another run and I bagged the summit then hiked on some of the nice mountain biking/hiking trails.

Montpelier

I headed up to Montpelier to meet up with Eric Morse as we were heading off for a long weekend to visit a few tri-state points and some other sites.  I started things off with a chilly 3 mile hike in Hubbard park behind the State House.
