Ascutney

This weekend I’m heading to Mt Ascutney for my 11^th attempt at this race.  This is a great tune-up for Mt Washington or a reality check or both.  I had a “bad” race last year partly due to being really beat up from the Bretton Woods Fell race. Thankfully BW will be held in the fall this year.

 

I’m hoping to take a shot at Mt Washington Hall of Fame runner Keith Woodward’s 50+ record from 2002.  Top 10 Senior times below:

It’ll be interesting to see if anyone can crack the 30 minute mark.  It has only been done 12 times and only six people have done it. Blake’s 28:16 from 2010 is a sick time and Morse’s master’s record of 29:49 from 2008 is also impressive.  I’m not sure if Eric MacKnight is coming back this year but his Wachusett time a couple of weeks ago shows that he could very well go sub-30.

Morse, Casner, and Van Orden won’t be running this year but Todd Callaghan only needs to take a few seconds off of his time from last year to move up.
