I’m
heading to Merrimack NH this Sunday for the USATF NE 5 mile road championships.
This will be my 101st Grand Prix race and my 11th time
doing a 5 mile championships. I had some
luck with the distance “back in the day”.
Although I never finished first overall I was the New England
champion once (1993) and 2nd New England twice (1987 &
1989). My fastest time was 23:46 in 1988
at the Jim Witt 8km. The race was won by
two time Olympian Bob Kempainen.
I’m
hoping to run around 28:20 this weekend…
