On 11/22/86 the U-Lowell XC squad headed out to Riverside CA for the NCAA D2 XC championships (my final XC race at U-Lowell). We raced over a rolling 10k on a windy and warm day. I was in the lead pack for 4.5 miles of the race but just couldn’t go when the kickers started kicking (despite a 4:47 final mile). I ended up in fourth place in 31:09 (Splits: 436/952/1508/2016/2524/3011)
