20 years ago today (July 18, 1998). I tried to pick
up some extra cash by doubling up at the Exeter Kiwanis 5k/10k. The races
were held at 9am and 9:30am respectively so there was just enough time to jog
from the finish of one race over to the start of the other. I wasn’t the
only one with the bright idea to run both races. Nivaldo Filho, Jose
Moreira, and teammate Dan Verrington joined me in both races. I think
money went 5 deep, but it may have only been 3 deep in which case Dan had the
misfortune of placing fourth in both races!
