Years ago = Nov. 1983 – I only ran 83 miles during this month, I
was struggling with Plantar fascia issues and I sprained my ankle badly at the
beginning of the month. The only race I did was the NCAA XC championships in
Racine WI. We (U-Lowell) were among the favorites to win, but ended up in 3rd,
partly due to my less than stellar 23rd place finish. It was fast enough to get
me my first All-American status, just a couple of steps ahead of teammate and
fellow All-American David Quintal.
