Over half a million losers

I was updating my race spreadsheet and realized that my finish at the Boston Marathon back on April 15 had me reaching something of a milestone.  I have now beaten over ½ a million people!

Stats:

I’ve beaten 506,992 (and lost to 16,147) people.

I’ve run 1,453 races covering 8,503.13 miles at 6:12.8 per mile.  My average finishing place 12.06 and the average number of finishers is 365.63.      

I’ve won 391 races, set 317 person bests and 159 course records while winning $42,837.70

As a master (40-49) I ran 436 races and was tops in the age group 178 times (40.8%) and as a Senior (50-59) I’ve raced 178 times and been top finisher 91 times (51.1%).

Not surprisingly the top 20 races in order of the most people I lost to are almost all in the last 5 years.  Getting older = getting slower = more people beating me.  Nearly all of the races are either USATF NE championships or National championships.
