I’m heading up to Mansfield for the “Race to the top of Vermont”. This will be my second run up the toll road that climbs not quite to the top of Vermont. I won in 2008 which was the first year the race was held. The race doesn’t seem to keep track of age group course records and actually combines the runners and bikers for the overall course record (which is about the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of). Eric Blake’s 32:51 is the REAL course record (for runners), only four people have ever run under 35 minutes. CMS teammate Erik Vandenderies ran a course record for 50+ in last year’s race, knocking over 2 minutes off of Martin Tighe’s time from 2009. I feel that I can’t approach Erik’s time but I’m hoping to give Martin’s time a shot.
