Bretton Woods - One month to go!

Only a month to go until the Bretton Woods Fell running race!  Don’t miss out on this great race, I’m planning on racing BOTH days.  Come join me!

Don’t be intimidated if you are unfamiliar with “Fell Running”, the race will be very similar to other up & down trail mountain races held in New England.  Fell is a term mainly used in the Lake District of England to describe mountains or high moorland. The major difference between fell running and mountain is that true fell running requires you to be able to navigate the course with route choice between checkpoints being left to the individual.  At Bretton Woods a “consensus” course will be marked giving runners the choice to follow the somewhat longer route without having to navigate.
New this year, Bretton Woods now has THREE racing options but you can only have one of the three races count towards your Mountain Goat Status (USATF members are the only ones who need concern themselves with this).  Note again that all courses will be marked and navigation will not be required (although it may save you some distance).

Sept 30th at Bretton Woods will feature an uphill only event (no shortcuts on this one, 1.75 miles to the top of Mt Rosebrook).

October 1st at Bretton Woods will feature the short course and long courses like other years.
The Short Course gives you a taste of Fell Running covering three points before returning to the bottom of the mountain
The Long course gives you traditional course with six checkpoints to be visited in order.  Depending on what route you choose the race will feature 5-8 miles with
