Old course records:
I keep track of all my course records that still exist. Obviously only if the race still exists and also if the course hasn’t changed. I’ve lost a few along the way to some minor changes (like the CMS weekly 5k) but a few nuggets still exist. One of my January ones held up for another year. I set the course record at the CMS Freezer Five in 1992 (New Year’s Day) in a tie with new teammate Larry Sayers in 24:00. We ran pretty hard but decided it was not worth it (no prize money) to kick for a victory. We’ve now co-held the record for 28 years. In 2020 the race was held for the 39th time.
