Grand Prix streaks

Earlier this year I posted who has the longest active streak of scoring a point in a USATF NE Grand Prix race.  Arthur Besse (who has one of the active streaks) asked if I could figure out the longest streaks ever.  After digging I came up with some results.  Some things to keep in mind.  I could only get information for the last 23 years, the 13 years before that (1985-1997) are sadly not available.  I’d also like to stress how difficult it is to score in the GP.  In 2017 thirteen-hundred USATF members ran a GP race.  Five hundred (38.4%) scored at least one point.  Only 1.4% managed to score in all of the races.

Only 32 people have scored in multiple years and only 25 have a streak of at least two years.  Here are the top streaks.  Zappala, Hrynowksi, Besse, and Sharkey all have active streaks.  Although Nancy Corsaro “only” has 14 in a row, she has an amazing eight years where she has scored a point in each race.  Only Zappala has more with nine.
