MRI - hamstring

Distal semitendinosus tendon tear, complete tear with gap of approximately 3 cm.  The tendon is limitedly retracted.

Fully torn hamstring at the insertion.  The doctor has never seen anyone ever tear this ligament.  The semitendinosus is the one they harvest when they repair an ACL.  No surgery is done for this.  PT, EPAT treatment (pressure waves that stimulate the metabolism and enhance blood circulation to accelerate the healing process).  I’ll be out probably until the end of the summer (which hasn’t even started yet!) and maybe able to race in 2024.
