40 years ago: Sept 1983 – I kicked off my sophomore year at U-Lowell at the Dartmouth Invitational
(Hanover, NH 09/17/83) with a sixth-place finish over the 5.8 mile
course in 29:50. Although we managed to put our top 7 all within 1:09 we
couldn’t catch Dartmouth (37 points). On this cool and rainy 50-degree
day we finished in 2nd place with 77 points. The following
weekend we took part in the Holy Cross
invitational in Worcester
MA. I took fourth place in 26:50. Greg Hale (RI) won in 26:29. Our
squad took the victory with 47 points while BC and Brandeis tied for 2nd
with 55 points.
