This was a vacation week. I'm not great at taking time "off". Tried to stay busy and at the same time not overdo it. I caught the International Space Station twice this week! Had a nice start to the week with a visit to Fort Williams for sunrise.
This lead into a 7m run with Eric on the Eastern trail which got me to three different Maine towns. I finished off the day with a nice run in Concord and some well deserved coffee post-run.
Mid-week I met up with long-time friend Scott S (we've been friends since 1981). We got in some miles on the Cotton Valley rail trail and then a kayak around Rattlesnake Island.
I had a solid run on Thursday on both the Methuen Rail trail and the Groveland rail trail and then started to feel the impact. I had a lousy run on the Topsfield rail trail and a run at Stiles pond that was only saved by the refreshing dip in the pond post-run.
The end of the week had me on the Freeman rail trail that was littered with fallen trees from the microburst that put power out in nearly 40,000 homes. A nice Turtle Pond run saved the day with a super-relaxing post-run coffee.
I closed out the week with a less than stellar run at the GBTC XC race.
This was my first 80 mile week since March and I had an additional 6 hours on the bike.
