Yet more snowshoe stuff!

I’ve been keeping the WMAC snowshoe stats for a couple of years.  I like looking at the historical data.  One of the things I’m tracking is “1,000 points”.  It is not easy to get 1,000 points and certainly hard to get 1,000 points in one season.  The last couple of years it has gotten relatively easier with the higher number of races.

How hard is it to get 1,000 points?  Only 102 people have amassed over 1,000 points
There have been 2,795 different people who have run a WMAC race.
So to get 1,000 points you are in the top 3.6% of all WMAC racers.
Only 46 have gotten to 2,000 points and 21 have reached 3,000 points that puts them in the top 1.6% and .75% respectively.

A record tying 5 guys got 1,000 points this season.  They also got them quicker than ever done in the past.  Tim Mahoney now has the record, amassing 1,000 points in 43 days!  Figuring it takes at least 11 races to get 1,000 points, Tim basically ran 2 snowshoe races at a high level every week for 6 weeks.
