North Carolina - Day 3

Day Three 06-29-2013:
Barnett Knob - 4,665'
Reached the Barnett fire road just after sunrise but thick fog and 60 degrees meant I’d start the day with wet feet again!  1.2 miles round trip from 4,290’, up in 7:51 and down in 5:58.

Chambers Mountain - 4,509'
7:30am 3.8 mile round trip in 40:22 from 3,360’.  Up in 22:21, on top for 2:41, down in 15:17.  Clouds and sun in the 60s and humid.  Dirt road climb after getting through the cow gate at the bottom.  Nice grind up the hill with an open grassy area with views of the top.   There were cows on top and the fire warden had a nice house next to the tower.  I may have woken everyone up as the warden’s dog was not happy to see me.
