from the 2021 Mt Washington road race:
Oldest men’s field ever (48.8 average), fewest men’s finishers since 2012
Slowest men’s field (1:59:50 average) since 2017 and second slowest ever
The top 10 men averaged 1:08:49 which is the slowest since 1978
The men’s field had the fewest sub 1:20’s (33) since 2001
Second largest women’s field trailing only the 448 in 2018
Slowest women’s field (2:14:19)
Oldest women’s field (44.5)
19 states represented in the men’s field, and no state records set
15 states in the women’s field, Samantha Diaz set the only record taking 9 minutes off the WY record
Only one team record set – F60 by CSU taking 12 minutes off the previous record
Single age records were set by Erik Vandendries (56), Bob Mulvaney (68), Richard Larsen (69), Donna Smyers (63) and Rebecca Stockdale-Woolley (70)
Joe Gray ran his 8th sub 1:02 time which trails only Eric Blake (11)
Eric Blake ran his 14th sub 1:05 which moves him into first (passes Dunham/Gutierrez – 13)
Joe Gray ran his 10th sub 1:05 which moves him into fourth
Kim Dobson ran her 6th sub 1:15 which ties her for first (Pichrtova), she ran the 11th fastest time ever
Brandy Erholtz finished in the top 10 for the 10th time which leads the list
Blake finished in the top 5 for the 14th time which is the second most
Gray had his 10th top five finish which ranks fifth
Blake moved into 2nd place in all-time dollars won with Gray moving to 4th and Dobson seventh
Erik Vandendries (56) set a new 55-59 age group record by 1:58
Rebecca Stockdale-Woolley (70) set a new 70-74 AGR by over 11 minutes
